August is one of the best months for peach picking in Virginia, which luckily boasts an array of picturesque orchards that offer a delightful pick-your-own experience. Immerse yourself in the lush countryside, bask in the warm sun, and handpick the juiciest, ripest peaches around!

Just a hop and a skip from the town of Crozet, Chiles Peach Orchard is one of the best spots in Virginia for both pick-your-own and pre-picked peaches of all varieties. Pick your own Yellow peaches, or grab some pre-picked Donut and White peaches. Availability changes every day, and this orchard operates on a pre-pay by container size system.

Where: 1351 Greenwood Rd, Crozet

Crooked Run has been in the same family for over 250 years—and they’ve got it down to a science. In the months of July and August, you can pick your own blackberries, summer apples, and, of course, peaches!

Small fruits at Crooked Run are grown with minimal or no chemicals whatsoever, and they use mineral fertilizers on all of their crops.

Where: 37883 E Main St, Purcellville

Great Country Farms is the ideal spot for a day out with the family. Admission to fruit picking includes visits with farm animals like bunnies, lambs, pigs, and chickens, plus access to a play area featuring a splash pad and obstacle course.

Where: 34345 Snickersville Tpk, Bluemont

Peaches are in season at Hartland, a family-run working farm and orchard. Right now, they’re picking Loring peaches, a sweet and melting variety great for snacking, canning, or baking.

Where: 3064 Hartland Ln, Markham

Hollin Farms’ Peach Orchard invites you to experience the joy of harvesting your own produce by hand. At the moment, they’ve got White and Yellow peaches, as well as a special deal: buy three peck bags, get the fourth peck bag free.

Where: 1524 Snowden Rd, Delaplane

Mackintosh Fruit Farm has over twenty varieties of peaches, so they start picking peaches in early July and have varieties ripening through early September. Right now, Yellow peaches are ready to be picked.

Check out their farm market or the Cider Room for a drink after a day of picking fruit.

Where: 1608 Russell Rd, Berryville

August is the best month for peaches at Marker-Miller Orchard—alongside a ton of other great fruits like Ginger Gold apples and various berries. Fruit availability changes every day, so your best bet is to give them a call or visit their website for updates.

Where: 3035 Cedar Creek Grade, Winchester

From July to November, Stribling Orchard has apples, pumpkins, and, of course, peaches for the picking. Enjoy a beautiful day picking fruit over a breathtaking backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

They also have a store, the Harvest House, where you can pick up honey, jams, Virginia peanuts, fresh baked goods, and more.

Where: 11587 Poverty Hollow Ln, Markham

Head to Valley View Farm for some of the best fruit you can find in NoVA. Peaches are ripe for picking until the end of August here. Their varieties are Yellow Freestone (meaning, the peach isn’t attached to the pit) and White.

Where: 1550 Leeds Manor Rd, Delaplane
